missing you, by AB
Teens and tweens are going back to a different type of schooling after their spring breaks. This article was written for yooou! by almost 12-year-old, AB, who attends school in Dubai.
E-learning for me is very different to school, I listen to Virgin Radio whilst setting up my bedroom ready for E-Learning so it feels like my Mum is driving me to school. I only have 30 minutes per subject but we get work to do offline as well. I get to see my friends and the teacher online but it’s not the same as if I was in the classroom.
The day is shorter, we don’t get time to hang out with friends and I can’t speak to the teachers. Therefore I am missing the school atmosphere and the social side of school life. However I am enjoying and happy being at home relaxing with my family and my doggies Spencer and Diana which I love so much. Also my brother was meant to go to school in Switzerland and now he is stuck here so I get to be with him a little longer.
Wherever you are in the world I bet you are missing something while we are social distancing. Like I said I am really missing my friends, shopping with them, chatting and laughing. It’s also strange knowing we can’t fly to the UK to see our family there.
I really, really miss netball both at school and in my league, we were about to win our league but the finals was cancelled. But we still need to keep fit at home, it’s hard to keep motivated but my parents trainer have us doing drills on the beach and the teachers set tasks to do.
So here are my top 5 tips to keep fit:
1.YouTube at workout-There are some amazing online work outs for all ages. I’ve been watching Joe Wicks he’s funny. I have started my own YouTube vlog for my daily life and my first one was a workout.
2.Bike – go for a ride. Remember to take hand sanitiser and keep distance from people. Don’t touch railings and crossing buttons without sanitising.
3. Practice a skill – for me it’s netball shooting.
4. Run – keeping your distance from others.
5. Stretch – don’t forget to stretch as well. Yoga or use the foam roller.
I really hope we are all back to school soon with our friends but in the meantime stay safe, happy, fit, healthy and positive.
