what it is like to be homeschooled, by KB
Homeschooling is growing in popularity, and it can be a little scary to take the leap to switch. I was in public school, from preschool to 4th grade, and then my parents decided to pull me and my brother out. It was kind of terrifying at first, but now I would never go back.
Homeschooling is super flexible. I have done it with both the books and online, but I prefer online. I typically do 2-3 hours a day, September thru April, and it’s pretty easy. I try to do mine in the morning, just to get it out of the way, but you can do whatever works best for you.
Homeschooling is a lot like public school. If you are doing books, your parent is your teacher, or if you’re doing online courses there is a teacher assigned to you to help with any questions, ect. I am currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program. I can get my high school diploma in anywhere from 4 months to 4 years. I can do everything at my pace, and there are no major deadlines. You aren’t cutting any corners, it’s just school without all of the filler and teachers.
Probably my favorite thing about homeschooling is how flexible my schedule is. I can do my three hours of school, and then the rest of my day is free. This is partly why I started my business, Wild and Refined. I grow flowers, and I have April thru September to dedicate to it, since i’m not in school. Find me on insta, @wildandrefinedflowers. Homeschooling isn’t hard and can be fun.
