Today is National Bagel Day!

And what better way to celebrate than with a bagel from the best bagel place ever, Shug’s. 

There’s really only one place to go to celebrate this holiday with a bagel, and that is at Shug’s Bagels. With locations on Mockingbird and Lemmon, you can get the most delicious, warm, and perfectly toasted bagel stuffed with all your heart’s desire, that will just melt in your mouth.

Shug’s bagels are truly perfect for any type of occasion: stayed up late and you wake up starving, get a Shug’s bagel.

Maybe you woke up early and went to go work out, what better way to reward yourself than with a Shug’s bagel.

Have a long day ahead of you in work or school and need something to get you through, get a Shug’s bagel.

And with the ability to buy dozens of bagels at a time and Shugs own cream cheese in tubs, you can enjoy Shug’s bagels over holidays with family and friends from your homes! 

You might be wondering now, “Ok this place sounds pretty good but what should I get?”

That’s why I asked my friends for their orders and why they think it’s so good.

I personally am a simple girl who likes the Everything bagel double toasted with cream cheese.  You would think that’s hard to mess this up or what makes Shug’s so much better. But Shugs really just perfects their authentic New York style bagel, warm and soft cream cheese, and they make the bagel toasted so well that it is crispy yet so flavorful and not ever too burnt.

My overall friend’s favorite is the classic “Shug’s Bagel” with a twist. The “Shug” includes bacon, egg, and american cheese, with your choice of a bagel and my friends love to add avocado to it for freshness! My friend Lincoln says that “the egg and cheese blend perfectly together, while the bacon adds crunch.” She also likes hers with the Everything bagel so that it adds seasoning and even more flavor!

Not only does Shugs have breakfast bagels, they also have more lunch options!

My friend Estee loves the Pizza Pagel from Shug’s. Its fresh mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce is the perfect lunch item. She says this bagel reminds her of pizza bites she used to eat when she was little, and no one makes the pizza bagel as good as Shug’s! 

Now you might have heard that their lines are long, and yes, even though they are long on the weekends, trust me it’s worth the wait. You can make waiting fun by going with friends and talking to them in the line. Or even skip the line and order ahead in advance to go pick it up in the store!

But believe me when you finally make your way to the front, get greeted by a lovely worker, order, wait for your bagel, and then they finally call your number, it’ll all be worth it.

Picking up your bag of bagels and feeling the warmth through the brown paper back, smelling the food inside without even opening it yet, it’s truly amazing. And you unravel your perfectly wrapped bagel. The smell is delicious. The taste is delicious. The experience is amazing. Everything truly just melts in your mouth. 

So on this holiday, or any day you feel like having the best breakfast of your life, try Shug’s. You will never be disappointed.
