how to help a friend who is going through something, by RP

Have you ever had a friend that was going through something you couldn’t fully understand?
I have and it can put you in the position of where you want to help but don’t know how and that can definitely feel pressurizing.
What I learned from my experience is, the best way to support your friends is to just be there for them.
Be the shoulder for them to lean on, the person for them to talk to, and the person they can come to for a hug.
Sometimes, they’re not always going to want to talk about what’s going on, and that’s why it’s so important for you to offer as much support as you can by letting them know that you’re there.
I’ve found that when you are vulnerable with a friend when you’re going through a hard time, they are more than likely willing to be vulnerable with you when they are going through a tough time.
It can help create a bond and a sense of trust; it can also help you both relate to each other.
I want to leave you all with this, everyone goes through difficult times that we will not always be able to fully understand, however it’s important that we never stop being a support system for each other and our close friends because in the end that support can help keep us grounded.
