Hi everyone!!
I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to stay active this summer!!
Personally, moving my body and working out makes me feel so good and productive!! I love to go on runs or walks, swim, lift weights, and more!!
I think one of the best and easiest ways to move your body is to go on a simple walk. Whether it’s after dinner, in the morning, or during the day, a simple walk never hurts!
I love walking my dogs with my mom. It’s always a great time to catch up with her and get some fresh air.
Another super fun way to get some cardio in during the summer is running! I know with Texas heat it can get super hard at times, but a nice jog throughout my neighborhood always makes me feel so good!
It feels so rewarding to work hard and sweat and then take a nice dip in the pool or enjoy a refreshing ice cold water or lemonade.
Going on walks and runs is super fun because you can pretty much do both anywhere! If you are on vacation, walking on the beach or running to a local smoothie shop and store is super fun!
I also love lifting weights. I personally lift at my school’s gym, which is open all summer.
If your school doesn’t have a gym or isn’t open during the summer, The YMCA and local country clubs have awesome weight-lifting facilities.
One thing I highly recommend with all workouts, but especially when you’re lifting weights, is having a friend with you. It is super important that when you are beginning to lift weights, or are trying new weights, you have someone with you. That way they can spot you and make sure you don’t hurt yourself!
It’s never a bad idea to have someone to be there with you to make the whole experience a little more fun and to encourage you!
I also use music to get me excited while working out. Especially when I run, I love to have fun upbeat music to keep me motivated.
Finally, I wanted to recommend some of my favorite places to eat after a workout.
I love Chopshop and their protein bowls. Super nutritious and tasty! They also have super yummy smoothies with supplements and vitamins.
I also love Mendocino Farms. They have amazing, healthy salads, and I also love their green juices!!
