a recap of my freshman year, Sienna says
Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here, and since SUMMER’S HERE, I thought I would recap my year and tell y’all what it was like during Covid.
First off, at the beginning of the year, I spent a lot of time online learning. It was so hard.
The first few weeks of my freshman year were spent alone in my room, wearing sweats and trying to figure out which new kids were even in my grade.
I’m very bad at e-learning, so my grades for the semester were an uphill battle.
When everyone was finally allowed to go back to school, we were welcomed into an environment of one way hallways and strict social distancing rules.
I could barely recognize anyone because they were masked and it felt like I was surrounded by strangers.
Luckily, high school still had sports, so going to cheer practice after school was one of the only moments of regularity for me.
Trying to think back on all of it makes it seem like yesterday and years ago at the same time.
After Christmas and Spring Break, things started getting a little more relaxed.
We had more time to socialize, and every once in a while we were allowed to get less than 10 feet away from our friends.
I finally met all of the other new kids in my grade, and I can confidently say that I can name everyone in my class.
There were finally big events outside of school and somehow there wasn’t a single Covid case during the second semester that I know of.
The downfall of this is that time seemed to move way too fast. I could swear that Spring Break was only a few weeks ago, not a few months.
This year was crazy and somehow still exciting, and I can’t wait to see what fun things happen next.
Oh, did I mention…SUMMER’S HERE!
